WHO ARE WE?
“We are Becoming” is an initiative centred around encouraging and empowering women to become the most confident, vibrant, and unique version of themselves. Becoming is a process which allows women to redefine themselves, in the absence of what previously defined them and that is what we aim to do through this platform.
BACKGROUND
We Are Becoming was started in the month of August 2017 by Anesu Michaela Mautsa. Anesu struggled with self-worth and self-esteem issues throughout her childhood and creating this platform was a way in which she could express her struggles as well as feel seen and heard. We Are Becoming was derived from the desire to create a safe space for women to share their stories with one another and empower women to press past the limitations placed on them.
Ultimately, we are empowered to empower, and We Are Becoming aims to change the world, one woman at a time.
OUR VALUES
Compassion: Compassion is one of We Are Becoming’s core values because this platform aims to be an extension of love and grace to people all over the world.
Empowerment: We are becoming aims to help women become stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their lives and claiming their rights.
Purpose: Everything We Are Becoming does is planted in purpose. This platform is ultimately about becoming everything you were destined to be.
Collaboration: We are becoming believes in partnering up with different people to achieve a shared vision of making a significant impact in this world.
OUR STRATEGY
BECOMING BLOG
The "We Are Becoming" blog is a platform which has been created to allow women to share their stories. The aim is to influence, inspire and help other women through the power of sharing. Each month, we accept submissions in the form of stories, poems, pictures, videos, songs or written pieces (can be anonymous). These submissions are posted on our blog and can be viewed at any time.
BECOMING EVENTS
We Are Becoming hosts a number of events, that aim to create safe spaces for women to network and connect with one another on a personal level. Our current events consist of, Open mic nights, Poetry showcases and High teas.
MERCHANDISE
We Are Becoming has a line of affirmation merchandise aimed at encouraging women. Our current affirmations are: You Are Loved, My body is beautiful, Worthy and More Than Enough. Our designs come in Ladies and Unisex fits, Crop tops, Racerback Vests, Sleeveless hoodies and Hoodies. The goal of this affirmation apparel is to empower women by not only saying positive affirmations but by wearing them as well. Check out our shop to view your options!
THE BECOMING SERIES
"The Becoming Series", is a collection of conversations with influential women on a broad range of topics. Through this series, we hope to introduce women to the thoughts and ideas that will empower them to fulfil their potential.
