Dearest Mother, the one who gave me life and ensured my path through it would be as painless as you could possibly make it.

I do not know how to even begin to express how grateful I am, that I was blessed with you as my guide in this crazy thing called life.

You are my friend and my best friend. My baby girl. No matter how I am feeling, the thought of you keeps me going and warms my soul.

You have carried so much on your shoulders, being a woman, a black woman, you never let the darkness of the world dim your light. You bring light into my life every single day, you breathe the word of God into me every single moment.

I am blessed beyond recognition and grateful beyond words. To my mother, I don’t know how I could ever communicate how much you have done for me.

I just hope you know how much I love you.
